Wow, those are actually way more faithful to the source than I expected. I actually like them. I was never into power rangers (they were just a few years too late to get me at the right age), but I'm kinda interested in this movie.

And the author of that article is flipping clueless. Saying the mouths are odd (they're straight from the original helmets dude) and referring to the old spandex costumes as "traditional armor". Since when was spandex considered "armor"?

Pretty much how I expected them to look. Sadly, that armor is bound to impede the traditional martial arts stuntwork that PR/Sentai is known for.

This is pretty good casting. And people wanted a past PR actor in the movie, so there you go.

Whether or not it's any good, if you're a PR fan (and I'm sort of an entry-level, think-its-a-cool-idea type fan) you have to be pleased with the way they're actually TRYING with this movie.

No he said the tone to the tv show would be like comparing Adam west Batman to the Dark Knight.

He's only saying the tone would be darker and more serious thennthe tv show.

Somewhat disconcerting though. Because the tone of the 60s Batman show kind of IS the tone of Power Rangers...so, going to Dark Knight from that is well, like going to Dark Knight.
I'm not sure I WANT this to be super dark and serious. It should be for KIDS, not immature manboys who think things need to be DARHK for them to be acceptable to enjoy as adults/teens.

We'll see. I'm still very hopefuly that a cast that includes Elizabeth Banks will have a decent amount of energy and fun to it.
