Not to be nitpicky....actually to be very nitpicky, should those Walkers not be in stop-motion animation as it was in "Empire"? On the one quick glimpse of them, they sort of looked CGI to my eyes.

It's a nice trailer, really makes me wish I could see the "war movie" cut that had all the executives getting their knickers in a twist (odds are it will never happen, but just maybe someone at Disney put it on the home video release.) I'd double the length of that last bit with Vader though, right now it's more blink and you'll miss it length, just not long enough to make an impact on the viewer.

Still has a gritty war movie feel to this trailer. Very excited. In Gareth Edwards I trust!

Looks great. No doubt this will be the film fans of the original trilogy have been wanting for the longest time. Still....episode VII's 2 Billion international box-office take...I don't see it surpassing that, but I have no doubts it will be very successful.

It's interesting that Jyn comes across a little differently in this trailer. The first depicted her as something of a cynical loner, whereas here she's a team player, warmer, and with a more traditionally heroic attitude. I wonder if this is just a view from further into her character arc or if her personality was recalibrated in the reshoots.

Ah, I forgot about the holo chess table in TFA. That was an awesome little nod, and the game even picks up where Chewie and R2 left off supposedly.

I don't disagree with you about wanting more practical effects and the idea of continuity of effects within a series. But still... It's been nearly 40 years. And the Star Wars trilogy contained some the best, most cutting edge special effects audiences had ever seen. So it's somewhat fitting (and keeping continuity, from a certain point of view) that the new sequels do the same.

I like Giacchino's music, but this probably means a more conservative and traditional score for the movie. Desplat's style is just so different from Williams that I was looking forward to hearing a radical new take on Star Wars music.

Giacchino's Star Trek theme is one of the best non-Williams pieces of movie music out there, so I'm down for this.
