I've read this book (thanks to the Scifi Japan article about it) and it's not too bad at all...the concept of giant alien bugs vs mech's would be an easy sell any day of the week....

Doug Liman directed Jumper just for a reference point.

His BEST movie is The Bourne Identity which, while not bad, I find the Bourne series pretty ordinary...

Legendary Won’t Partner With Warner Bros On Tom Cruise’s ‘All You Need Is Kill’

From Dread Central:
Warner Brothers Proving All You Need is Kill without Legendary
[quote]Interesting news is coming out of Hollyweird as Legendary is no longer collaborating with Warner Brothers on the upcoming adaptation of the Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, All You Need Is Kill.

Deadline reports that the movie’s UK production was just notified within the past 24 hours that Legendary â€

What's with the title to this? Is that even a proper sentence?

Movie has been retitled: Edge of Tomorrow.

I wonder if it's because All You Need is Kill is basically a pretty bad title, or if it's because you can't have "Kill" in a title anymore...

I want to read the book, but isn't that just the plot of STARSHIP TROOPERS?

That's disappointing, I actually really love the original title. It's just unwieldy enough to be cool.

The alien designs look pretty incomprehensible...

and I dunno, doesn't this just seem like Source Code meets Starship Troopers or something? I don't wanna write it off, but I see very little that gets me excited.

I liked the original title, but this is probably going to be a pass for me.
I wish the aliens looked cool...but I can't really tell what they are...exactly...>_>

'Edge of Tomorrow' Trailer: Like 'Groundhog Day' With Aliens and Pain
The new trailer for Doug Liman's time-loop thriller shows Tom Cruise dying to explain his situation to Emily Blunt.

Why isn't anyone discussing this movie? It's one of the best I've seen in the last year. Action-packed, well paced, good acting all round, and knows exactly when to play it funny or straight. It lives up to all the promise I could have hoped for when the trailer made it look like Starship Troopers meets Groundhog Day.
