I'd love to see this, and my god...ending the Revenge segment with the helmet being put on is amazing. It would have been so powerful.

For 25 years, George Lucas has wanted to build a film studio on his land in quiet Marin County, California, but his affluent neighbors have opposed it. So George decided to move his plans for the studio elsewhere and sell the land in Marin County to a developer that will construct affordable housing for low-income people. His neighbors are calling that "inciting class warfare."

But Lucas isn't just saying he's going to retire, he not only named his replacement but she has already stepped into the role of Lucasfilm's chairman.

It's not so much his retiring that's being doubted, but that he's going to do experimental films and stuff that sounds genuinely more interesting than what he has been doing.

So, the thing with that is:
A.) He's right. It's not about spaceships. It's about relationships.
B.) He sucks at relationships.
C.) Someone should have told him both A and B when he was making the prequels.

One thing where he's wrong is its not (or at least it wasn't before the prequels) a soap opera. It was a fairy tale and a mythological odyssey rolled into one and stuck in a science fiction setting.
But then, it's pretty easily demonstrated that Lucas has essentially become a pathological liar when it comes to talking about his franchises, especially the making of them. Nothing he's said in the past 20 years about Star Wars and its creation has been very accurate and a lot of it is outright false. These days anytime he has anything to say about his previous work I immediately write it off as completely untrue. You can only cry wolf so many times...
