Doesn't matter. He was supposed to be done and was now under a contract with a different studio that required the mustache. It's WB's problem that they ran over and now have to deal with the fact that they still need him despite his mustache.

If I was paramount, I wouldn't make accommodations for my competitors problems either.

But all that being said, this IS really stupid and seems like a colossal waste of time, money, and effort. Surely there must be an easier solution where he can shave? I mean, how long would they have to wait until he's allowed to shave it and how many new shots do they need? Could they shoot everything else and then cram all his work in the last few days of re shoots?

IIRC (I may be wrong) when Supes first appeared at the end of REIGN, in his black suit, didn't he have a full Beard/Mustache? Maybe they could just add a prosthetic beard, rather than CG out the stache?

Either way, I kind of liked Dan Murrels suggestion at Screen Junkies, just keep it on, he said he's pay $100 to see a cut of the film WITH the mustache

I've felt for awhile that while Marvel properties are defined by strong characters, DC properties are defined by icons. A continuous, evolving shared universe among characters makes a lot of sense; it allows them to change and grow. But icons have to remain a little more static, and as such are better served by more self-contained projects, which can approach them from unique perspectives without being bound to earlier interpretations or future obligations.
