^At least it would mean financial security for Stan Sakai, like what the Hellboy movies did for Mike Mignola.
Doesn't it seem like all the non-superhero comics adaptations have been crowded out by the white-hot intensity of the superhero boom? I mean, this cycle began either with the first Blade or X-Men (depending on how you do the math) and since then we've had superheroes, sure, but we also had A History of Violence, Ghost World, Hellboy, Hellboy II, Road to Perdition, Speed Racer, American Splendor, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, as well as a bunch of thrillers published as comics as a stepping stone to a movie deal (Cowboys vs. Aliens, Surrogates, Oblivion, 2 Guns) ... is there any non-superhero comic adaptation in the works in Hollywood right now? All I can think of is the CGI Peanuts film.
