I may have my problems with Moffat, but I think I've liked the Christmas specials MUCH more since he took over. This one was decent as well.

I've never understood the hate for the Xmas specials. The only ones that were weak were the Titanic and the with the name taken from Narnia. The best is still A Christmas Carol.

Anyway, do you think they will ever do a full box set for each of the Doctors of the old series?

I don't think so Kain the old Doctor's had a lot of episodes from what I can recall so they'd be pretty expensive to do. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure classic Doctor Who ran like a soap opera similar to Dark Shadows.

I hope we'll get season sets, or at least similar bundles for the classic series because a bunch of discs are out of print.

I'm ever so slowly catching up with the past season. So far, 'Listen' and 'Kill the Moon' are far and away my favorites: the former for its exemplary suspense and character story, and the latter for its magnificent sci-fi/fantasy set-up and social commentary.
...I mean, there had to have been a message in there, in the conflict of whether or not to essentially abort an alien monster child, right?

That trailer is the first thing I've seen with any kind of Series 9 airdate listed. Where did you hear that it would be this month?

I don't blame her. I'll admit that Clara wasn't my most favorite companion in Nu-Who (Donna FTW), but I didn't dislike her. I disliked Amy until Rory showed up and stopped loving on the Doctor.

But I eagerly await to see how Capaldi interacts with his new companion.

^ It's currently just a rumor (and if this miniseries is about the entire life of Queen Victoria she may only stick around to play her during her younger days, maybe only half that series), but if it's the case it won't be surprising. Clara will have lasted 3 seasons! That's serious longevity for a companion.

Her and the Ponds have established longer tenures, and I despite my love for Amy and Rory I felt they stayed on for too long. It was too much of a good thing. The reason I was happy Clara would have a third season to herself is because she only really came into her own during her second year.

Ooh, I'm so excited. I think Capaldi might be my favorite doctor after Tennant. I'm not reading the synopses as I want to be mostly spoiler free but the titles are intriguing. Sadly I'll have to wait for these on disc or streaming as I don't have cable.

It's official Jenna Coleman will be leaving the show this season. I kind of liked Clara she's not my favorite companion but she's still a good one.

Well, for my money, this two-parter is the best experience I've had with the 12th Doctor. (Previously I thought it was Mummy on the Orient Express, heck, it still may be, but this 2-parter was fun.)

Finally watched the first two episodes and they were fantastic. We got some really excellent character moments from everyone and it was so nice to see instead of some big battle sequence. Missy easily stole the show here, but it was also nice to see a break down of the Daleks and how their machinery works. They also added some nice humanity to Davros making him a much more complex villain than I thought he was. This season is already better than the last.

I hope the rest of the series is this good.

I'm also not really excited for the Coal Hill School spin-off. Mostly because unlike the Torchwood/Sarah Jane Adventures there's not a core DW character going with it...(As far as we know). I don't count any of the students, because I don't feel like they're all that interesting or likeable.

Man, this season is just amazing thus far. First we got a nice look into Devros and learning more about him as a character and now we had a kick ass ghost story. That was fantastic. I loved it. This is easily my favorite episode (well episodes) since Listen. I can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store.
