But if it is, it would make sense for him to leave with Moffat as they can have a great send-off. It also means I can finally get a Capaldi Years Collection on BD and rewatch his wonderful run.

I'm sorry to hear that, but he's just following the precedent of many former actors who played the role, including the last two. I adore Capaldi, so I hoped he could one-up his predecessors by doing one more series, but I suppose it just wasn't to be.

Unfortunately, my cable service dropped DW right before Series 9, and I haven't got around to watching that last season which aired, what? A year and a half ago? I need to get on that.

Atwell would be a good choice. I imagine her being a more Pertwee kind of Doctor.

I'm going to miss Capaldi as the Doctor he's become one of my favorite Doctors almost beating out Tennant. Matt Smith I didn't care for until the very end of his run but I've been invested in Capaldi since his start.

Finally watched the Husbands of River Song. Did not like that at all. Gotta watch the last special before new eps drop.

We watched the first 5 episodes to the new season today and for the most part they were entertaining, especially the wooden house episode and the space station one, but I'm not sure to think about the new companion. Sometimes it sounds like she is mumbling and she makes me think she is just Martha 2.0. The bald headed dude though is great and is a far more entertaining companion. I'm curious to see where this is going to to despite there being this bittersweetness to it knowing this is Capaldi's final season. It's a shame because he is such a great doctor, yet he hasn't really had anything to truly signify his mark on the role. I hope that changes soon. Oh, and I'm going to predict that the Master is behind the vault. Why else would there be drums playing when they were standing in front of it?

So we just watched episodes 8-10 and overall they were kind of meh.

The third parter to the monk story was kind of a let down. It wasn't bad, but the monks turned out to be a joke.

The one on Mars was interesting and it was cool to see the Ice Warriors in modern day.

As for the last episode I watched which had Romans and Scotts, it was kind of boring.

I hope the two parter finale gives Capaldi the send off he needs.

Over the past week I've gotten caught up on Series 10 and it is probably one of the best seasons/series to date. The final episode was very emotional and can't wait for the Christmas special.




As for the next Doctor I really hope they get Eddie Redmayne of Fantastic Beasts and The Theory of Everything fame. As I was watching Fantastic Beasts I couldn't help but think he would make a perfect doctor, in fact his entire performance in the film reminded me of Doctor Who.

We finally watched the two parter finale and it was nice to see them do something different with the Cybermen. It was odd to see the old bag head versions though. The stars of the show were hands down Missy and the Master. Good god every scene with those two was comedic gold. The stuff with Bill was sometimes good, sometimes bad. Although, I called her Martha 2.0 back when the season first started and yep, I was right as she was only here for one season. At least she did have some good moments.

The final scene with the red wedding dude/Harry Potter janitor was shocking though. He looks just like the first Doctor. The season as a whole was a mixed bag, which is Capaldi's entire run in a nut shell. This is quite saddening though as the man was a fantastic Doctor and added a new dynamic to the show. What is even more depressing is that they will probably pick some model looking dude to play the Doctor to appease the fangirls that hated Capaldi because "he was old."

Really happy that Jodie Whittaker was cast. Haven't been following the trends recently (as matter of fact, though I adore Capaldi in the role I still haven't seen his last two seasons - hopefully catch up before Christmas!), but I remember during Capaldi's entire tenure there's been tabloid garbage about how an older Doctor is sinking the show and that the BBC wants to try to copy the success of Tennant and Smith with another attractive young guy and even though that's all certainly been B.S. it's was repeated enough to make me worry that such shallow thinking would come into play for casting the 13th Doctor. Glad that the direction they ended up going in is totally different!

I'm not sure how I feel about the casting of the new Doctor. I'm going to give it a few episodes before I make a final decision I mean I did stick with Matt Smith his entire run and he was only good for his first Christmas Special and his last season as the Doctor IMO.

I will say this I hated Missy for awhile but she grew on me.
