It's odd; Deadpool's humour didn't work for me at all in the trailers, but I found it hilarious in the movie. In fact, I'd say the humour is this movie's strongest element. The acting and action are also standout elements, especially since everyone was so well cast. The only disappointment was the by-the-numbers plot. Sure, the execution and character detailing were nicely done, but the underlying template was like something from an 80s straight-to-VHS movie. Interweaving origin flashbacks throughout two-thirds of the movie cut its pacing off at the knees too. Given the completely bonkers main character, and all the crazy stuff he's got up to in the comics, I was hoping for a more inventive plot.
