Trying to recreate the magic of the original Predator is just not possible. Everything else is just fluff. I'll watch it at home.

Trailer was kinda bland, but with Shan Black at the helm I have a bit of trust in this thing.

I'm fine with the new Predator movie. I like Shane Black's work (I mean I don't get the hate for Iron Man 3, aside the Mandarin swap-out but I actually loved that) so I'm cool with what I'm seeing.

But I'm seeing so much negativity. It's like everyone is expecting the fourth entry in a series (or six if you count the AvP movies) to be of the same caliber and quality of the original. Generally speaking; Part 2s tend to expand or invert the premise, part 3s tend to circle back to elements of the original. But part 4s just get funky.

Alien 4 - Human/Xeno hybrid

Jurassic Park 4 - Dino Hybrid

Child's Play 4 - Chucky gets married and has a kid

Leprechaun 4 - Leprechaun in space.

Star Wars 4 - Jar-Jar

Rocky 4 - Rocky wins the cold war by beating Dolp Lundgren and Paulie gets a robot.

Batman 4 - Ice puns

I really have no interest in this, but one movie fan made an interesting observation. "Why is it, that inevitably, the direction these movie franchises go is making "Hybrids"

This is doing nothing for me. It looks like the kind of cheap Roger Corman knock-off of Predator that we would have seen in the wake of the original movie in the 80s.
