James Bond's hair color has already been changed from book to screen so I don't think his skin color needs to be any one way either. Plus, Bond is a British character and he's still been played by Sean Connery (Scottish) and Pierce Brosnan (Irish). I don't think Bond is defined by those kinds of traits so much as by his occupation and behavior.

Idris Elba would make a good 007 but now is not his time. Daniel Craig is doing a great job with the character and I don't want to see him hang it up anytime soon.

I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I think Elba's a bit too old. I think Craig's too old too...the next Bond should be someone younger so that by the time they're thinking about doing a fourth or fifth film with the actor, he's not pushing 50.

I don't have anyone specifically in mind, but there are actors in their late 20s, early 30s who wouldn't seem like that have as much wear on their tires, so to speak.

I JUST read an interview with Tarantino where he said that anything we've heard in the past about him wanting to do, aside from MAYBE Kill Bill 3, is something he's not actively pursuing and has moved on from wanting to do.
He also said he has no interest in directing a script that someone else writes.

So, any Tarantino "Bond" movie seems like it would wind up being just a Tarantino spy movie that functions a lot like a Bond, but with no overt references to Bond...if it even happens at all.

I just saw SPECTRE and my spoiler free review is a resounding MEH. It was better than Quantum of Solace and it did have a few cool chase scenes but it wasn't anywhere near Skyfall or Casino Royale

Spectre - Spectre starts off with a bang with one of the best Bond openings ever produced. The shots are just flat out gorgeous, the camera work is great, and the opening bit is quite intense. Thankfully, the movie continues its flow throughout the entire thing as it is a truly enjoyable Bond film. Sadly, it is far from perfect, but no where near to the degree the critics are saying, which is due to it not being better than Skyfall. The plot is predictable, the villains are cookie cutter, and Sam Smith should never have been allowed to sing the opening theme because he sucks ass. The visuals used in the theme really save this song from being the worst Bond theme song, but still, I have no idea what they were thinking when they picked him to be kicked in the balls before singing. Nevertheless, there are a ton of great homages to the movies and novels of old and the action scenes are well done. Lots of fantastic one liners and humor too. The Bond girls are a waste of time, but at least the main one is able to hold her own. Moneypenny is easily the best female character in the movie and Q steals every scene he is in with ease. M is well done and it is pretty awesome watching Voldemort take on Moriarty (some will get this reference). Christolph Walz's performance is bittersweet because he does his role with such finess, yet, he is pretty much just playing himself as that character. It works, but it may annoy some. Oh, and Bond does have his character shields on full here. Finally, everything released under Craig's name is connected very nicely and the ending does a good job of wrapping up Craig's Bond if this does indeed turn out to be his final performance. In the end, no, it is not better than Skyfall or Casino Royale, but it is still an outstanding Bond experience and way better than anything Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan ever put out. I give it a solid 8/10.

They caught lightning in a bottle with “Skyfall”. It was not so much the same story with this movie, BUT that is not to say this was a bad film. Despite its flaws, I enjoyed “Spectre”.

The bad. I thought it lost momentum during the middle part, as it went from location to location to location, etc. And did not at all care for the theme song. I thought it quite unmemorable. The Bond women? I have to agree with Kain and say that Moneypenny came off the best!

What I did like was that there were scenes reminiscent of classic Bond movies. Dave Baustia was a worthy henchman, though not in the same league as Oddjob or Jaws. But it was still good to have that type of villain again in the series. Plus, it was just enjoyable to have Spectre in the game again causing havoc and chaos everywhere.

Where the series goes from here is anyone’s guess. It looks like we are slowly returning to the classic Bond style and away from the “Bourne” type of influence that has been so prevalent in Daniel Craig’s tenure. Still, I would like to see Craig come back for at least one more outing.

I thought it was about as good as Skyfall, but not as great as Casino Royale. So it's certainly not the worst Craig Bond film, that's still Quantum of Solace. I'm still not sure what was going on with that movie.

I think a lot of people are being put off by the calm, understated, even uncomfortable nature of Spectre. But if you have the patience for that sort of thing I think you'll be entertained. Also, it reminded me a lot of the earliest Bond films, which is no surprise considering how Skyfall ended. The movie has a phenomenal cast, all the iconic characters are played to perfection (M, Q, Moneypenny, etc.).

We live in a time where movies are sentenced very quickly, sometimes unfairly, and I think Spectre is a victim of this.

As one of the online reviewers said, "At this point, not every Bond movie has to be the best of the franchise. The only bad Bond movie is a boring one, and Spectre is definitely not that."
