Glad they're making more, I liked the "remake" a few years back. I hope they run with the winter camp idea they had before all the financial issues crushed the sequel.

As for the web thing, I could go either way on it.

I can't think of a Jason game being anything but an Amnesia clone.

The remake was pretty okay-ish. It brought back a few things not seen since pt 4 but I would have preferred bland characters to the hateful dregs of douchebaggery the movie had.

There's no script, no director, no....anything, and yet somehow we know this is going to be a reboot/stand-alone film...how is that, exactly?

For a F13 film to be enjoyable without Jason Voorhees, it'd have to be a REALLY good movie. The problem is there hasn't been a single film in the series that I'd qualify as objectively "good". Instead, I imagine this winding up like Hellraiser: Hellworld where everything was an illusion or whatever.

I've often fantasized about making a Friday the 13th movie that was more about the feeling of haunting that Jason has left in the community around Crystal Lake than it is about an immediate threat.

Odds of any studio bankrolling such a thing, or the core of the fanbase being into it? Pretty close to 0.

**** long time fans!!!! Make it have a different type of killer!!! They aren't going to like the movie anyway just because it is a reboot, so why even bother working to pleasing them when it is not going to be possible? Do something new with the franchise. It was longtime fans that ruined the idea of the Halloween series becoming a yearly anthology series (and HIII is superior to every Halloween movie that came out after it). Sure, I don't see why they are rebooting it already when there was just a reboot 5 years ago, but if you are going to do it, do it well.

Doing an F13 film without Jason would be a recipe for instant box office disaster. It'll never happen. And it shouldn't, honestly.

Friday the 13th and Halloween are not named after a person, they are named after a day. All I'm saying is that if they had a great idea that did not have Jason in it, and it was going to be well written, I would have rather they had done that instead of catering to the people that are going to hate the movie regardless.
