In other news...Well Black Lightning showed up on Netflix. I figured I'd give it a shot since its (not yet at least) connected to Berlanti's other shows. One episode was enough, no need to see more...So sad... 10 year old me would give anything to have all this superhero content on TV, too bad all of it is garbage.

I don't watch Black Lightning, but I did watch Arrow and Flash and they're both good shows...for the most part. They hit their rough patches as any 25-episode show does. I only gave up because I just don't have the time anymore really.

This year's crossover event was REALLY good.

People who watch Supergirl say it's good.

Apparently, Agents of SHIELD has gotten really good...and is adopting the 13-episode format to avoid lulls.

Netflix is making Marvel shows people generally like.

Where is all this BAD superhero content?

I watched Flash up to season 3. And Supergirl S1 was absolutely amazing, only for it to be ruined in S2. Each of these shows (Even Legends of Tomorrow), started off decent, then turned to crap. Also I gave up on AoS basically when they introduced Ghost Driver at the beginning of S4. I recently purchased the 90's Flash TV series from Wal-Mart for $10. While it's not great, at least its not offensive.

Season 4 is where everyone says Shield got GOOD.

Flash Season 3 was the pits but it's back on track. If you stuck it out through that season, it's gotten infinitely better.

I don't watch Supergirl and haven't kept track of which seasons people say are or aren't good. I do recall hearing it had a lull....and it might have been that season? Because IIRC, two years ago, everyone was bagging on Arrow because Supergirl and Flash were 'way better' then last year Arrow was great but everyone was complaining that Flash and Supergirl were bad, then this year, people have been saying every time two of them are good, the third one is in a slump. All three have supposedly never been good at the same time.
Gills.

I’ve made it through Arrow season 5, Flash Season 3, and Supergirl and Legends seasons 2. (Basically, everything on Netflix - the new seasons and Black lighting aren’t available yet for me)

I think arrow started rough but got good by the second half of season 1. Season two was really great. Since then it’s been up and down but it’s remained enjoyable overall.

Flash was awesome for the first two seasons. Season three was weaker but still enjoyable.

Supergirl season1 was great. Season 2 was weaker (and the subplot with her sister was way over done and obnoxious) but overall it was still decent.

Legends is the only one that has consistently been lousy. It has an occasional episode that I like, had a pretty good villain in the first season, and sometimes has some interesting ideas. But over all it’s pretty terrible most of the time. I only stick with for the crossovers really.

I mean, they all have had ups and downs. But between Flash, Supergirl, and Arrow there has been SOME truly GREAT super hero tv and LOTS of solid quality comic book television.

I’ve yet to dip into marvel tv shows or Gotham, but both are on my list.

While the seasons haven't ended fully yet, here is my break down in a a sentence or two:

Flash S4 - Great first half but holy christ what the hell happened to the writers in the second half? It has become worse than Season 3 with an inconsistent villain, stupid forced drama, and too many plotlines that will most likely not be resolved in the next episode.

Black Lightning S1 - Started out strong, went downhill, but ended on a high note.

Legends of Tomorrow S3 - Started out quite "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" and ended up becoming fun as hell in the second half as if the writers gave up on trying to take the show seriously. Either that or they swapped the Legends and Flash writers for their second halves.

Arrow S6 - A boring predictable ass season with only a couple of good episodes. It repeated way too many old plots from previous episodes, did nothing with Oliver being a father, and none of the plots for this season were even resolved. Total dogshit of a season and next year needs to be its last.

Supergirl S3 - At least it has been consistent in how "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" it has been. The worst DC show this season that is just down right boring. I don't know if I will even touch Season 4 unless it has outstanding reviews across the board.

iZombie - While the zombie city plot is getting stale and the writing for Chase Graves is inconsistent, the individual stories have been outstanding and with next season being its last, we're in for a good time as it resolves all of its plots.

Meh. I’m all for a cool Batwoman show, but having it focus on her be lesbian has me less than enthused. Maybe I’m just too conservative to look passed it, but it really annoys me sometimes how the Berlanti universe beats its viewers over the head with their very left wing political and social views. Like, i don’t mind those ideas being there, whether I agree with them or not. It’s the way that they’re there. Like how ham fisted supergirl’s sister’s coming out was. Or in a recent episode I watched, Cat Grant flat out calling anyone who doesn’t subscribe to her political opinions idiots and other names. And what she was saying had NOTHING to do with the story of that episode, it was just there to make a point. She could’ve been talking about anything at all but they specifically chose a divisive political issue and made it VERY clear what they think of anyone who doesn’t agree with them.

It hasn’t been enough yet to make me stop watching (though it’s come close once or twice), but the fact that they are hyping this angle has me worried that it’ll be more political mantra drum beating disguised as entertainment. Hopefully I’m wrong and it will be a great show that finds a way to explore and discuss pertinent political and social issues without resorting to insulting or attacking those who may not always share their opinions.

So did anyone else catch the Legends of Tomorrow episode this past Monday?

I thought it was a fun watch. The miniature sets were subpar, but you got the idea. A couple of Easter Eggs the article missed. The kaiju Tagumo is a giant octopus, which IIRC was supposed to be the monster until Tsuburaya told Toho how much it would cost and how long it woud take to do in stop-motion? Also, when Tagumo attacks at the studio it gets shocked by some power lines. Anyone catch anything else?

From what I've read they seem to have combined elements of Honda with Tsuburaya. Still, it's not a documentary and they've obviously done research. Pretty cool!

Yeah, Legends has ended up becoming the best show in of the Arrow verse. I've dropped Supergirl, might do the same to Black Lightning, while I'm really only watching Arrow at this point because I've invested 7 seasons now into the show, I want to a friggin conclusion before I quit. As for Flash, Flash so far has been solid, especially the Ragdoll episode, but there are stupid things that have occurred and Cicada sucks ass. Thankfully, rumors are circling that this season is going to contain 3 different arcs with 3 different main villains, so Cicada shouldn't be around too much longer.

Elseworlds is probably the best crossover that these series have done yet. While the main run of episodes of Arrow, and to a lesser extent The Flash, keep one foot in grounded drama, I love that they let themselves off the leash once per year and go completely Silver Age bonkers.

The one disappointment was:

As exciting as this crossover was, I was also intrigued when a certain character started dropping a certain key word that will set off alarm bells for any DC reader. And the end of the story confirms it, next season's crossover event is going to be:

 Oh lordy, are they going to have the guts to follow through with all that title implies? Considering how long these shows have been running now, I imagine some of the major actors have plans to move on, so it's possible.

They really need to let Arrow just end already. They have no idea what to do with the show anymore. Of course, Flash is the same way as they keep making the same mistakes over and over as if the writers just give up during the second half of each season.

Legends has been the best show this season, but I don't know how much longer they can really keep it going. I gave up on Supergirl and Black Lightning.

Since I gave up on all these shows almost 3 years ago, I wonder what's going on with Arrow. Since the flashbacks were all from 5 years prior, i imagine now in season 7, I guess the flashbacks are from season 2 of the show  .

It's pretty sad. Since I jumped ship after an amazing Supergirl S1, and then everything (on all the CW shows IMHO) turned for the worse, I've merely scanned comments on a few videos on how Supergirl has turned into nothing more than an "SJW/Feminist crapfest" (not my words, since I am apolitical anyway, but apparently this is the way many fans are feeling...)...It's a shame because from the point of view of just the comic books themselves, and how Kara-Zor El has appeared over the years in animation, I really liked that character...
