Well that was... uh... a thing. It was... utterly and beyond boring. My god, Part 4 was pretty much nothing but filler and then Part 5 was, well still mostly filler, but at least it had fun moments. These episodes really proved that without any sort of fanservice they had no substance at all. This whole thing could have been told as a 3 parter and that was it as it meandered around A LOT.
First off, no Reverse Flash or Psycho Pirate despite RF clearly stating he would return during Crisis and CW advertising that Psycho Pirate would return in Crisis.
Secondly, if you're going to do The Spectre, you need to do the "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" Spectre! Putting a boxing hood on Oliver and using Audacity to alter his voice does NOT make him The Spectre!! Couldn't they have at least bleached his god damn skin white in post? Have they ever even read a freaking comic with The Spectre in it before or even looked at the artwork? What's even worse is that all of that build up and he did jackshit as Spectre outside of shooting eye lasers into the sky. Yep, they clearly know their source material. Jesus, it pisses me off so badly that this will probably be the ONLY time we would ever get Spectre in live action form and they dun "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" him up.
The way Oliver was dressed and the face up shots of him when he was talking to Barry in the speed force had me wanting him to say, "Welcome to the Twilight Zone."
Um... where are Iris and Joe? Don't they deserve a "We're alive" scene?
The Beebo stuff was funny, as were the crossover digs.
So they created a new Earth, and then it split into a new set of multiverses? Huh? Swamp Thing is Earth 19? Why not make it Earth Canceled?
Not sure how I feel about the Ezra Miller Flash appearing. That seemed pointless.
Superman has two kids now? Diggle has two kids now? Wait, how did Lila get back to normal? Last time we saw her she was part of the Anti-Monitor?
Where's Wally?
The Atomverse/Microverse bit was funny.
Jesus, this whole thing was a mess. Too many convoluted plots and too many questions left unanswered.
Right now, I'm not even sure I want to bother with the last 2 episodes of Arrow given that the show essentially concluded here with Crisis.
Who was the girl Kara met up with for Lex's prize speech?
Now I will say I did like the formation of the Justice League at the end despite them clearly not being allowed to use the Justice League brand name. That was pretty cool. Not sure why they needed to put a nod to Gleek in there, but okay. Does this mean the next crossover is going to feature Space Ghost?
Overall, this was not worth the wait at all. It also left way more questions than I had beforehand, which is not a good sign. On the other hand, this is probably the perfect jumping off point as this felt like it could work as a complete series finale to the entire CW verse. Well okay, by perfect I mean a load of "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!", but if you're going to stop watching the shows, this is without a doubt the best time to do, so I think I might just do that. We'll see. I might feel better by next week, but for now, good bye and good night.
