Thanks to this thread I just rented the DVD and watched it last night. I enjoyed it, but my wife classified it as "unpleasant." We both agreed it was very slow-paced and "low tension."
I liked it because you never really knew whether Dunn had any special "powers" or was just very lucky and had really good intuition. Sure, we saw him bench press 350 pounds, which is of course amazing for a guy who apparently doesn't work out at all, but it's certainly well within the limits of human strength. I think the record is about 1,100 pounds right now. Then again, it seemed that he could keep on going...but we don't know. Which was cool.
As presented in the film, his "touch somebody and see the bad stuff" power certainly seems supernatural. But as far as being "unbreakable," we never really see direct proof of that physically (i.e., getting shot, hit by a car, falling of a building, etc., and suffering no ill effects). Which was also very cool, and built a lot of tension...particularly when his son was going to "test" him.
A sequel or two? Sure, I'll go see them, just to see what happens next.
