/\ But once again, you're implying that this is all stuff Tarantino came up with, when those themes have been in the comics quite a bit. Whether you prefer to think of Supes with that view or not is up to you yourself as a fan. But it doesn't mean Tarantino's view is wrong. He's drawing that opinion from themes that have been in the comics. So your opinion of Supes is no more or less valid than QT's. Superman, like Batman, Godzilla, etc. is a character that has been in so many different territories that everyone has their own ideal version of that character.

I could dig it...

Not a fan of Mad Men...more of a Breaking Bad type of guy but from what I've seen of that show he'd deff make a good Alex Rossian Superman...ya know, an actual mature MAN of steel as opposed to Superboy. In my opinion Superman is deff a hero that should skew older.

Jon Hamm looks like a 1940s drawing of Superman come to life.

I'd really prefer Matthew Fox. Jon Hamm is a terrific actor and could certainly pull it off, but Fox just naturally comes off as decent and upright...which, whichever version of the character you prefer, are essential characteristics of Superman.

I prefer Hamm. Fox would just be too distracting with all his weird facial expressions.

I hope the new movie is about Supes walking across America to find himself.

I thought it was funny how uptight some fans got when the guy took a sip of beer in SR. Who hasn't?

Guillermo Del Toro Has Turned Down The New Superman Film

I'm glad, as I'd much rather he do Mountains of Madness, a film that's been his dream project forever. But I can't say the idea of del Toro collaborating with the Nolans isn't an amazing one.

^Similar to when del Toro truned down Blade 3 and Harry Potter (among others) to make Hellboy movies.

Dream projects always win over more sure money-makers in GDT's book.

I feel like Dream Project win for MOST directors over the sure money-makers because they feel there will always be a chance to make a sure money-maker but not always a chance to work on their dream project

although maybe that's only true in the case of the directors that I actually like...

Yeah, many dream projects have turned into absolute nightmares. Alexander for one. Hell, you could even argue that SR was a failed dream project.

DEADLINE EXCLUSIVE: Chris Nolan Looks For 'Superman' Director
On the list: Unstoppable's Tony Scott, Let Me In director Matt Reeves, Battle: Los Angeles helmer Jonathan Liebesman (who just got the Warner Bros/Legendary job of directing Clash of the Titans 2), Duncan Jones, who just directed Source Code, and Sucker Punch helmer Zack Snyder.

I kind of don't want Snyder near this. It just doesn't seem like his bag, Duncan Jones could be interesting though.
