Sounds like more good to me, very glad that Breck Eisner seems so very interested in sticking close to Alex Raymond's strip, even making reasonable tweaks in adaptain Flash Gordon for the big screen. While, I agree with Eisner that the post-moon landing world of today means audiences in general have a somewhat altered perception, I disagree that people are more "savvy" today than they were 70 years ago. The adage, "the more things change the more they stay the same" always seems to hold true.
Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?
