Meh.
I mean I get where people are coming from. There should be a bigger presence of non-white actors in movies especially when the source material uses non-white characters (The Last Airbender, Big Hero 6).
But at the same I see where the studio is coming from. There aren't any Asian actress that are "bankable" enough for them to market the movie on. So they either get a known bankable entity, ScarJo, or they change the narrative of the movie (or at least the marketing) to focus on a male actor they can get the average person to recognize.
It's a crap problem. There are no huge Asian stars because they don't make movies with them, but there's no movies with them because there are no Asian stars. It's that "Entry Level Position: Need 2 Years Experience" crap.
In the end, I hope for the best but I'll expect the worst.
