The J.J. Abrams Thread

Later, we talked with a group of Transformers effects artists fresh off their win for Outstanding Models or Miniatures in a Motion Picture. Dave Fogler, Ron Woodall, Alex Jaeger and Brian Gernand explained that not all of them would be returning for Transformers 2 as some have started work on a secret JJ Abrams project that isn't Fringe, Star Trek or Cloverfield 2.

"They're working on the most exciting thing to ever happen in the film industry ever ever!" smiled Gernand.

Could it be a Godzilla movie?

Nothing mentioned except "secret project" and your first guess is Godzilla? That's a stretch.

You're right that is a pretty big stretch.
I fell like Reed Richards now.
It's probably Voltron!

Oh man, this thread is already hilarious.

Its probably another original movie. Why does everything have to be a top secret Godzilla, Voltron, etc. movie? Please, people.

Even if it isn't Godzilla(I surely don't think it is lol)...it sure makes my spine tickle. Wonder what it is.

I'm sure he was joking about the Voltron thing.

The easiest speculation, if not most likely, is that this is a ruse and related to an already-known project, but really, anything's fair game.

The project he has in pre-production right now is about this kid, Hunter Scott:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunter_Scott

...who at the age of 12 did his History Day report on the sinking of the USS Indianapolis, and took it so far that he ended up helping to posthumously exonerate the Captain from blame for the incident.

But somehow, I doubt that is "the most exciting thing to ever happen in the film industry ever ever!". And neither would be Godzilla.

What you talking about Legion? Everyone can imagine what they think/want it to be at this point....even though most of them are playing around....especially the Godzilla vs Voltron comment.

That quote made my spine tingle....so I'm just going to sit back and wait to see what it is.

That Gernand quote is wrong. I was there and I listened very closely to what he said, and he was very clearly enunciating "the most exciting lion to ever happen in the film industry ever ever".

Why would someone want a Voltron movie, when a Grendizer or Combattler V movie would be leagues more entertaining?

It's gonna be another Spongebob Squarepant's movie, seen from Squidwards perspective. Mark my words.

A passive agressive anal tightwad with his head up his own kaboose? See, what will make that more interesting would be exactly what Squidward does inbetween Krusty Krab and home.

I figured it all out....The Galactic Empire expands and attempts to take over the Earth with the Emperor and Vader leading the way with the Death Star on it's approach a few days behind.

Little do they know that the most powerful Jedi ever actually lives on earth and through the message sent through the Star Wars movies by "Conduit Lucas", learns about his powers and destiny.

Unable to defend the planet alone he calls upon the Earth's newest allies the Autobots who call out to the far reaches of the universe to get assistance from the Voltron force as well as the Starship Yamato. While at it they call upon Unicron to vanquish the Death Star.

During the world wide battle the Empire releases 2 creatures they had taken ownership of in a game of chance (rigged by Vader) and they unleash Gigan and King Ghidorah upon the planet.....what they fail to realize is that another Conduit had also revealed the ultimate secret to our lone Jedi....it tells about the greatest defender and most destructive force ever known....as told by "Conduit Honda".....;)

I could probably add more but then it would be considered the best "ever, ever. ever!!!" LOL

Hmm...just to throw it out, wouldn't it be cool if they made a version of "War and Peace" with steampunk and magic? Just a thought...
