Because it sucked and you're slowly beginning to realize it. Wasn't there something about you acquiring better taste or something in like the Star Trek thread?

Lol astute observation. Gonna try watching the original Evil Dead right now, so maybe my new sense of taste will help me enjoy that film more now.

I think we can all rest comfortably now that we know Jack Black liked this movie.

Holy crap!! The film is heading to a very limited art show theatrical release here in the States! Check out the insanely awesome new full official trailer and details here which reveals the great big daikaiju of the film!!:

Aw, no Atlanta screenings. Boo. I hope this gets picked up by someone for a blu-ray release though. Thought that trailer was terribly cut but the new footage in it looked pretty awesome.

There is a DC showing.. but the whole parenthood thing has really put a cramp in these sort of outings.

This looks fantastic! Most definitely going to the NY screening on 6/1. Seeing Murakami's design sensibilities on film is really something else.

Yeah, even the mostly positive reviews I saw confirmed what I was afraid of – a fine artist turned first time director with no experience in film and it really shows.

SIGH.

I'd still like to see it. Are there any chances of it hitting the states in some form?

A new video-clip/scene from the film:

Plus a new music video for it by Pharrell:

...So, no one's mentioned yet that Jellyfish Eyes is getting THE CRITERION TREATMENT??

I admit that my interest in the film has been waning, but this seems like pretty impressive news.
