Just watched it. It's not a kaiju film at all, but a "heartwarming drama" about a guy who wants to make a kaiju movie and shine a spotlight on his small hometown in Saga, while trying to win over his curmudgeonly father who thinks it's all a colossal waste of time.
Onscreen kaiju time (other than the little doll used to help scout shooting locations around Saga): Absolute Zero. No moving images from the "movie" are ever shown. No monster, no effects shots, nothing. Huge disappointment there.
You do get to see a few "stills" from the "movie" while the end credits are running (including the one linked in Avery's post above showing the back of the creature as it walks back to the sea), but they are not very impressive...they show the creature (maybe a suit? CG? Can't tell.) seemingly photoshopped onto location shots (or just shot in-camera at a beach, like the previously mentioned shot...which seemed to be an actual suit).
So, if you're only interested in this to see some kaiju action, forget about it; there is none. Zip. Nada. This is most definitely not a kaiju film.
But if you want to see a nice little drama that tugs on the heartstrings, or see a bit of a coastal fishing town in Saga, then here's your short film!
