Which do you think is the better film? Frankenstein vs Baragon has that great dark, mysterous feel when I watch it. Its also one of the few Toho films that has extra monster footage in it [Frankenstein vs the Devil Fish]. Also it stars Nick Adams which in my option has better acting skills in Toho Monster films than Russ Tambuyn. War of the Gargantuas is a fun film to watch. It has more attack than Frankenstein vs Baragon, the music great to listen, has a guest singer singing ``The Words Get Stuck in my Thoat``, some of the best suits in Toho monster movie history but the negative is the main actor is Russ Tambuyn who look as though he's not into the part. Overall, I think War of the Gargantuas is better.

While it seems to me that War of the Gargantuas might be the preferred film amongst many, I'm giving this to Frankenstein. I'm just a bigger fan of big rubber dinosaurs than I am of big hairy and scaly men. For some reason I've never found the Gargantuas to be as interesting as a lot of people do. They're cool, but give me the likes of Manda, Gorosaurus, Varan or Baragon any day.

I love those two movies. Equally even. I only voted for WOTG because I'm enamored with the gargantua look and execution of the suits.

The attack on the oil rig in Frankenstein Vs. Baragon totally wins this one for me.

Man this is a tough one...gonna have to barely give it to Gargantuas...this film is a real oddity...the human drama is better in Frankenstein...I feel more for the Frankenstein monster in that movie then I do for Sanda...Baragon is awesome...but Gaira....really just clinches this for me...the bad brother/ lost soul aspect of this film is really what ultimately makes this film one of my faves in any genre

These two are about equal for me, but I'd have to say I prefer Frankenstein vs. Baragon. They're both great though.

Gargantuas.

In looking at it now, yes Nick Adams gives a much more gusto performance than Tamblyn, but Russ' performance never really bothered me watching this as a kid in the 1970s (nor does it today). Seeing the gargantuas was the first priority, not Tamblyn.

Frankenstein.

I felt the story, the concept, and the acting was more compelling - both are enjoyable, of course, but I just have to give it to Frankenstein vs. Baragon.

That's a tough choice, but I gotta go with Frankenstein. Gargantuas is my personal favorite, and I think the story idea is superior; the whole brothers-at-odds thing is classic, and Sanda and Gaira seem like a perfect match-up over the completely random Frankenstein vs. "Giant Monster Who Came out of Nowhere."

Still, Frankenstein is somehow more entertaining. Frankie definitely evokes more sympathy than Sanda, and Nick Adams surely puts in a better performance than Russ Tamblyn (not because Tamblyn's a bad actor; Adams simply relates to the Japanese cast better. Russ is lost in Gargantuas). And then, of course, there's Baragon. While random (don't giant monsters just pop up in Japan all the time anyway?), he undoubtedly earns his reputation as a fan-favorite.

Plus, Frankenstein has so many great moments: Frankie throwing the television out of the window, Baragon crashing a resort party, and so forth. Classic. I'm just sad I didn't see this until Media Blasters released it. This movie would have grown many wonderful nostalgic memories. Instead, I had sweat-slicked nightmares about furry green man-eaters!

Nick is the king (maybe Queen), but defiantly a casualty of Hollywood decadence. I think he would have done anything for that fleeting super stardom always just a little beyond his reach. And MAN, some of the things his contemporaries said he did!

After watching Frankenstein Conquers the World my vote still sides with War of the Gargantuas. While both movies have impressive set pieces for the monsters to roam around in, Gargantuas has a better finale set/battle.

I did love the scene where Frankenstein threw the tree at the bird and missed, so it landed in some shack instead. I was amazed at how you could barely tell there was a blue screen. The movie had really nice mixing of models and real people.
