It would be cool to get a full length version! Hopefully all goes well.

Can I has this now? Piss! I really like the ugliness of this monster and demand to see it now. This is the internet generation. Give it now, or I'll whine.

*edit* 2 seconds later found this in the link above^^

It seems to have cut short. It didn't have the UFO scene in it, so I guess that's all that is left to see???

No I don't think you can save the video, but there is some downloader toolbar you can get for Moozilla that will download any streaming video. (never got it to work)

WOW.... that was freaking awesome! This 15 minute short almost plays as a TEASER for something much larger(watch the ending of the above video!)

Ah...ok ....the last 3 min make everything come together.
My thoughts:

So I take it there will be some sorta Ultraman type of hero in the sequel

I get the impression the American is a douche...like in most Japanese movies..sigh

The creature's new "power" looks pretty cool

Overall I cant wait and this was a superb addition to the kaiju family...up there with Negadon from a few years back.

Man, that was awesome! XD It was a great parody, tribute, and its own functional kaiju film all at the same time! What a fantastic combination!

I'd love to see this get a full-length feature - or at the very least let this guy direct ANY feature-length kaiju film! He's great!

Oh, and I noticed they were using Ifukube music in this as well! I wasn't sure at first but then I recognized cues from Sinfonia Tapkaara. Loved that.

Great stuff!

WOW! I LOVED IT! I would have loved to see this as a full length film!....I am almost tempted now to hunt down that Marmit....

::I bugged my Girlfriend who was trying to sleep at first to watch it (after she watched Negadon:Monster From Mars coincidentally enough) and after 2 minutes of watching, she too fell in love with it, she told me the opening scene reminded her of War of the Gargantuas,heh::

I got my marmit figure reserved! Should be getting it at the end of June/early July.

And after watching the short flick, I'm glad I did. Loved it!

What a great kaiju film, I really hope this gets turned into a full length film series. Could you just imagine the different kaiju Gehara could fight.

Really loved the nods to Invasion of the Astro Monster.

10/10.

Don't forget the slight Rodan based one, with the bed-ridden survivor attacking the scientest's hair!

That was pretty cool. I didn't know what the hell was going on since there were no subtitles... but I love the monster. That's probably the best new kaiju I've seen since the 90s. So is there more coming or what?

Also, for the uber Toho observer, you may notice a certain tribal prayer session that is mighty reminiscent of a certain 1958 Kaiju film (Varan anyone?).

on a side note, I am still psyched to see Tomorowo Taguchi so into the Kaiju genre. As such a huge fan of Tetsuo, I was pleased to see him in Gamera the Brave, but this just tops the cake!

THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o

I LOVED IT!

The opening scene did remind me of War of the Gargantuas! I love the old feel it has to it. Gehara is also so awesome. When I first saw his picture I pictured his roar to be something like the Giant Claw's, but it wasnt. I loved his triumphant roar, he was awesome. This wasn't it entire movie though, is it? I didn't watch past the title and opening credits. I hope it's a full-length feature film because it would make it even more amazing. :D

I really like the glowing eyes aspect...its very creepy. It reminds me of the original silent film The Lost World...where a bunch of adventrurers are sitting around a camp fire when unbenownst to them the light starts reflecting off of a pair of eyes in the dark 20 or 30 feet in the air, the eyes of a allosaurus...pretty good visual.

Go to my blog to see the first eight minutes of GEHARA! Go to the Gehara story and check the updated links: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND GODZILLA!

"Poisonous Dandruff!"

(The film uses actual Akira Ifukube cues -- he is listed as "Music by Akira Ifukube" in the credits. The music is from one of his classical works... Cool!)
