Green Slime/Linda Miller connection in my hometown?

Postby Destroyer D » Tue Jan 27, 2009 11:06 am

Just days ago I received some Famous Monsters mags in the mail.
I took them to work to read during my break. I showed them to the
operator who I was to relieve and he looked at them stopping at the
issue with "The Green Slime" featured on the cover. He then said he
had a cousin who had a small non-speaking role as a nurse in the
film. I thought of Linda Miller (even though I could not remember her
last name for some reason.) but said nothing thinking......nawwwww
it could'nt be. Anywho I asked her name and he said "Linda".
Well as you could imagine my jaw dropped a little. He said he remembered Linda's mother wanting to take them to the drive-in
so they could see Linda. Of course her real last name is Marbury
I think he said. He also said she was married to a japanese man
and later performed in Vegas. I was stunned as I remember Rhodes
Reason saying the last he heard Linda was performing in Vegas.
My co-worker also said that he did not know her stage name and that they were actually second cousins. He said Linda would be about 62
by now and he was surprised that she had a major role in "King
Kong Escapes". He never knew that for some reason. He was 6 or 7
when GS came out. He said her parents still live here in Anderson
and that sadly he lost contact with his moms side of the family when
she died in 1986. Whether he actually met Linda or not we did not get
into. He is not a fan of the genre at all and I can't see how he could
make this up. He even knows Linda's parents names which I might be
able to confirm after another talk with him. Small world huh?

Sorry this came out looking weird in it's structure up above.Oh well.

Edit:I reminded myself of Linda's last name by calling my wife at
home and having her look at my copy of "King Kong Escapes".
I just could not remember her last name to save my life!!

August-I'll see what I can do. I don't see Dennis (my co-worker)
often.

So marriages are good for something! :D

Very interesting info Destroyer. Keep us updated! Many have wondered what ever became of Linda.

That would be awesome if it was her! Always wondered what happened to her and Peggy Neal.

I see though that there are two other Linda's credited in the film, Hardesty and Malson, and you guessed it, they play nurses. The plot thickens...

Well I talked to my co-worker named Dennis again. I got Linda's
parents names off him again and what road they lived on but not
an actual address. Sadly I cannot find them in the phone book.
I think at one time the library use to keep records of old phone
books. Maybe I could try there. As for the other Linda's it could be
possible that both of them married japanese men but for them to
perform in Vegas as well as Linda Miller has to be tough odds I'd
say.
