"RAIGA: THE MONSTER FROM THE DEEP SEA" [2010]!!!!

Godzilla wasn't the only daikaiju to go stomping through Asia! From Rodan and Mothra to Yongarry and Gappa, discuss other JAPANESE/ASIAN kaiju films here!

Those effects looks pretty bad...even for a kaiju film...and the Japanese girl pop song doesn't really help sell this film to me...but then again..I guess I'm not their target audience

lulz. So is this a comedy/parody of the kaiju genre?
I wanna watch it, I'm just not completely sure as to what "it" is.

It's definitely a very weird trailer that only the Japanese could[or even would make] but it still looks like a lot of fun. It's nice to see some cool daikiaju man-in-suit vs. miniatures action again. By the way; the film is set to make it's world premiere June 27th. in Japan!! Here's "RoboJapan"'s little blurb with more details and some really cool new pics, plus the trailer for those who may have missed it:

Also; here's "io9"s posting with exclusive translated details as to what these unusual characters from the trailer are that should definitely help anyone confused by it's insanity:

You mean....yet another parody?

But seriously, I am looking forward to this, the kaiju looks awesome and to say the filmmaker is a fan is an understatement.

 This man has taste

Well, Morbid Angel did have a bonus track called "Terror Of Mechagodzilla" on the two-disc release of "Heretic"...

Nice to see some fellow Morbid Angel fans on a Godzilla board

omg !

did you hear the freaking song in the trailer....lol talk about a hope crushing moment...we went full of hope to have a kaiju ripping a city apart on the sound of electric guitar and double bass drum attack . i mean it fit the bills a little: death metal for a destruction scene...but in my dreams only !

im on the edge of making some rant about the song but the monster seems very exciting so ill remain quiet on the issue ...

I'm surprised no one mentioned the little Raiga figure in the last picture with some other of the director's creations.

I'm guessing the 'guy' in question is Yukijiro Hotaru? And yes.

Is there (or will there be) a way to watch Reigo and Raiga?

Only if Media Blasters plans on picking up the titles. Otherwise, wait for youtube or a torrent site or a R3 DVD.

Give it time to get out there. I am sure you will see an American company picking up the rights sooner or later.

A new batch of really awesome pics are now up at "Undead Brainspasm" including one very intriguing photo that seems to suggest a fight between "Raiga" and one of the creatures from "Reigo"!!!!:

Hopefully Media Blasters picks it up. This monster looks cool, hopefully the movie is equally as impressive as the monster. If they can release the Monster X movie then why not this?
