Finished the whole show recently, a refreshing spin-off the Daimajin franchise, which is a total different take.
The Daimajin here was given life by kindness of humanity (given the formula seen in the series, the big guy was probably a big stone statue that was gently care for by his human keeper or something...), instead of punishing bad guys with a vengeance, he decided to use his life to protect and help the puny human (Them human love me, me Daimajin love them back
).
The story kinda drag and was really slow at some part, but the built-up was pretty good (though not dramatic enough). ~ the atmosphere is akin to the earlier 30 episodes of Kamen Rider Hibiki. And yeah, a few bits from the Yokai franchise.
Anyway, the big guy fights gigantic demons who were formerly human but twisted and corrupted beyond the reach of normal human or other good Yokai (with origin similar to Daimajin - looking up to the great Daimajin as their leader and the first of their kind). And he does so while singing to reach out what-ever trace of humanity that is still left within the corrupted poor soul. ~ He sings his heart out, trying to communicate, because despite being a gigantic living stone statue, fighting and violence was never his thing.
