I feel like I need to work up to this...maybe a rank the Rodans or a rank the Mothras as a bit of a warm up. Also I'd rank the various incarnations of certain Kaiju on opposite ends of the spectrum (56 Rodan way above the others. GMK Baragon high above Showa Baragon, etc..)

i was going to read your list, but between 1 and 2 i had no desire to read any further...

To be honest ranking favorites is something not 100% on logic, sometimes it is a simple matter of "this clicks with me". Both Obby and Krys are very distinct from the rest of the Toho roster, primarily in design. Plus while most monsters are natural allegories, these two are essentially spawned from nature itself and act as an avatar for an uncontrollable force. Sure, most kaiju represent that, but these two go a step further by being part of that force, kind of like a living tornado or tsunami. For Obsidius exclusively I was looking forward to him when Unleashed was being developed, everything about just seemed "yeah, I might like this guy" even if I preferred Visitor. Plus they play the best in Unleashed with only the various Godzillas, Varan, and Titanosaurus coming close.

For the record I have nothing against Armor Mothra and I don't hate him, he just has grating fanboys.* I am also not judging these monsters by their movies, if I did Dogora and Reigo would be much closer down.

^Mostly a mix of personality and DESIGNS. This feels more like favorite and not best.
I think some of the best would be Godzilla/Mothra/Ghidorah Because of how many disparate elements they combine in order to create something new and interesting. I think, then, if we have to choose the worst it'd be...god...I guess lazy stuff like Mecha-King Ghidorah, SpaceGodzilla, or Battra in which we basically get color swaps. It's the equivalent of a remold or retool in a toyline. Same mold, with something slightly different.

Now my least favorite Toho creation is Gogo from Mothra II. God bless I hate that thing despite the hilarity of magical healing urine.

Wow, okay, the breadth of some of these lists is impressive. I don't think I could come anywhere near knowing THAT many Japanese "daikaiju", but I definitely know enough from the the four main "Japanese majors" - Toho, Daiei, Nikkatsu and Shochiku. So anyway, here I go...

...everyone else in the middle, between Manda and Monster X/Kaizer Ghidorah is okay in my book. But Monster X/Kaizer Ghidorah, in my opinion is the absolute WORST Toho creation of the entire lot. No redeeming qualities whatsoever, if you ask me.
