I loved all the covers Art Adams did for IDW Godzilla Legends, and the couple that appeared in other IDW Godzilla series. Did anyone ever do a composite of all of them?

i'd like to see the Godzillas in more of a standing/humanoid stance. It's interesting how often artists take him to the T-rex pose (even ones like Art Adams and Matt Frank that have worked with Toho's guidelines in the past.)

I think Frank has said before if he were to do Neo now it'd be a lot different and maybe a bit more 'classic.' But he keeps it up as a pet project and for the people that grew up with it, so some design ideas have to remain consistent. Looking at the very first design you can see how much his skill has improved. He gets a lot of personality out of non-human characters and always has a nice sense of movement for things.

Wikizilla's page for the Official Godzilla Compendium has a galley full of Arthur Adams' illustrations -

^ I don't know if anything will come close to that feeling of discovery I had at 10 years old looking at the Compendium and seeing all the (Toho) movies and kaiju laid out like that. Adams fantastic spot illustrations were certainly a big part of that. Has anyone else managed to make the Togo Kong look good?

The Compendium was released and in my possession just before I even got the internet. As someone who didn't have the money to have a subscription to G-Fan growing up, it was actually the first place I heard about the Heisei films post-Biollante.

There was a new book released today that compiles storyboards from Eiji Tsuburaya for some of his films from 1953-1969. A few tokusatsu films are featured including Gojira, GRA, Rodan, Mothra, Mysterians, and Matango
https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/479861744X I posted these and some additional interior shots on my tumblr:
