Erm...I dunno, Ang, you'll still have to fight me on that! Aside from a cool title screen and a great Ifukube score, what was so great about the technical aspect of GvsMG'93? More of the same rays and cheesy matte-shot-over-jerky-stock-footage. People say this movie had the best effects work of the Heisei series. Are we all forgetting GvsD's revolutionary use of CG and GvsBio's great miniatures and humongous Bio suit?

We are comparing GvsMGII to GvsSG. Which is a classier production overall?

I actually don't think GvsMGII had the best effects, but they beat GvsSG's all hollow.

Oh, okay...I got lost there for a second :lol:

In execution, GvsMG had 'classier' effects, but the effects overall didn't enthrall me because it's all stuff we've seen before; they may have been darned purdy rays shooting out of MG's mouth, but I think MOGUERA firing those crazy missiles is a lot cooler because we haven't seen that before. And the same goes for the monsters themselves: MG may have been very well-executed, but the design was downright boring, if you ask me.

That's the basic gist, I guess: GvsMG is superior in execution, but GvsSG is superior in concept. And it really comes down to one's personal preference, but I found GvsMG to be just disheartening, while GvsSG, although suffering from several "cringe" moments, really shined when it was good.

Er...MG fired missiles too. And SpaceGodzilla was quite the ray-slinger.

The sequence that just makes me puke is the asteroid battle. Good lord.

I said G2, it was good, but it wasn't as groundbreaking as I thought it would be. IMHO GOTU is the best, then G3.
