Not to be a downer, but it doesn't really confirm a MOVIE. For all we know it could just be some kinda book. Need a little more info for me to get excited about this.

The movie's lead producer is known for doing drastic departures of classic icons and characters....see Kamen Rider Kuuga, Kamen Rider Hibiki and Daimajin Kannon. I admit that Kuuga isn't that big of a departure from classic rider but it's still a very unique take on KR. Unique is the operative word for this producer's work.
There's also the quote: "Gamera in this production will come to life in a "(new) surprising form."
So I'm not just pulling this out of my ass as you seem to suggest Cookson.
I'm not saying that this will be inherintly be bad but I am saying you should temper your expecations a little. This will probably be unlike any Gamera film we've seen before, for better or for worse.

I'm so glad that Shigenori Takadera is working on this. He's the creator of the only good tokusatsu in the past decade (Hibiki, Daimajin). It also probably means that it will be kid-accessible to some extent.
