New Gamera Movie in the Near Future?

I can almost guarantee that there's some sort of song used to awaken, or strenghten, Gamera in this new film. The producers is pretty infamous for using songs and music in his toku. Plus, music in sentai (aimed towards kids) is all the rage right now. Heck, even Kamen Rider now has catchy little jinggles that the belts play when the heroes transform.

Given Gamera's history, I'd be mostly okay with that.

So what would you guys want to see?
I kinda would like:
A film that starts off with nods to both Showa and Heisei series with an air of Little Braves. Maybe the first few minutes introduces the modern era that kaiju are common, however it's not all Pacific Rim apocalypse stuff. Gyaos are the most common, but other kaiju like an infamous kaiju called Barugon(like the one in the Heisei era comic) are known. Because of the loss of manpower now alot of militaries use drone aircraft and vehicles. The main character loses his father two years prior to a strange deep-sea kaiju named Punga (looks similar like the Gaira creature from the proposed Gamera 3-D project so a slithering angler-fish like quadroped creature) kills the main character's parents and sister. So he lives out with his grandparents (he's only 11) in a remote part of the Japanese countryside. He finds a cave and inside he finds an ancient shrine made of what appears to be bone and recovers an amulet that he decides to take home. He starts having nightmares of the Gyaos and a giant turtle that battles them over the course of several nights. One night a volcano that is nearby erupts and from the ashes rises Gamera who looks very similar to G2's version but with the slight coloration of Old Gamera from Braves but also with more armor-like ridges on his skin and large tusks. He lands near and the boy goes out to meet him and they share thoughts, until the drone aircraft come and Gamera attacks them and tries to keep the boy out of the way. When Gamera lashes out at a manned controller helicopter, the boy orders him to stop and Gamera retreats. The next few days the boy is filled with rage and has trouble at school and with his grandparents. There is a scene where Gamera battles two Gyaos in a nearby city similar to G3, but not as gorey. He dispatches the Gyaos and retreats. In his dreams the boy meets an avatar of an Atlantean, it turns out its the amulet is some sort of AI unit that shows him the death of Atlantis due to the Gyaos and a nanotech terrorist attack by a mysterious group. Gamera and a few other kaiju were left behind to battle the Gyaos and other kaiju developed by this old foe. The AI explains the boy must control himself to reign Gamera in and tells him some of the kaiju now weree awakened by man and/or mutants from pollution and other changes. Meanwhile a new kaiju named Laiega, a green, bulky, spiney creature with an enlarged, thorny beak that fires concussive, chemical balls from its mouth. It turns out Punga is following it, because the creature scavenges from Laiega's work. The boy convinces his grandfather to drive him to the city that's under attack, but Gamera comes, lands, and directly takes the boy into the city. The boy battles his inner demons while helping Gamera defeat Punga, but before Gamera can take the final blow Laiega slays Punga first and engages Gamera. The boy is danger when the building he is on collapses, but Gamera shields him and after several minutes Gamera defeats Laiega. Throughout the battle drone ships arrive in large numbers till at the end Gamera is surrounded by the military. The boy orders Gamera to bow and show submission and the controls for the vehicles are surprised. In their confusion, Gamera takes the advantage to launch himself in the air and escapades with the boy in hand. That's kinda what'd I'd like.

I just hope the "surprising new form" isn't simply Gamera being full-CGI. :<

^Hell, make Gamera a folkloric creature and just have the yokai and Daimajin in the movie, too.

Just a bit combo flick of all their classic genre franchises!

VERY interesting. Glad we have some kind of official confirmation. That would be totally awesome to get another Gamera film... though it makes you wonder what kind of "surprising form" we'll be getting. I felt GAMERA THE BRAVE did a good job as a mix of Showa/Heisei, but I highly doubt we'll get anything as awesome as the Gamera trilogy. Then again, I love GAMERA SUPER MONSTER, so as long as it's suitmation Gamera, I'll probably enjoy it.

The big question is...Will it come out in the states, and will there be new monsters cause using Gyaos again is kind of uninspired..

I'm sure it'll get an American release, the question is by who. I could see Mill Creek pick it up and I'd be fine with that.

What's wrong with using Gyaos the way they have? It starred in only two movies and then it basically makes a cannon-fodder cameo in Guiron (in a bit of world-building that almost makes Guiron an interesting movie), then the species returns in Gamera 3 as a logical extrapolation of the events of Gamera 1, and then another cannon-fodder cameo in Gamera the Brave. If Gyaos were a primary antagonist in more than two movies, I might be inclined to agree but...

I'd be game for the Yokai tie-in idea. I especially like the idea of Daimajin and Gamera teaming up.
Although I'd also be fine with some alien-related like Viras of Guiron.

I vote for aliens too. They're a significant part of Gamera's heritage and I think they're overdue.

I think expanding on the idea of him being the Guardian of Atlantis would definitely be interesting. I can't say I'm excited yet for a new Gamera film. I love Gamera The Brave, but unfortunately it bombed heavily. Plus, its as Kyle put it, if Gamera is to be CG.. it has to be GOOD.
