I'm with KG on this one. Although I might like Barugon more, and feel that Gyaos might be a "better" film, Guiron, to me is the definitive Showa Gamera movie. As far as children's films go, I honestly can't imagine any 8 year old boy NOT loving the hell out of this movie.

Yeah...at this point I feel like every time I start to talk about the Showa Gamera films, I'm somehow channeling Quint from Jaws when he rakes his fingernails over the chalkboard..."Ya'll know me. Know what I do. (enjoy the hell out Showa Gamera film). I'll watch these films, and tell you all why you're wrong about them. Now, it ain't gonna be easy. Bad turtle...it'll swallow napalm whole. Not shakeing, no tenderizing, just down it goes. But we gotta watch these films quick, before all of your childish sense of wonder disapears forever. But it ain't gonna be easy. Gota watch these films quick, and in order. Your mind is going to turn to jell-o. Gammera to Zigra (F Supermonster)..the whole damned thing. " Ok ok, I'll stop lol.

I kind of think he's fairly right, too. Though I think my love of Guiron helps me overcome a lot of the flaws in the film.
