Glad you joined our small club of people who appreciate this film

I really love this film for what it is, but it also holds an even more special place for me because this is one of the few kaiju films my wife sincerely likes and appreciates.

Gamera vs. Viras is absurd and I love it (), but I can't really admit now that it's a "good film" anymore. I still need to see the rest of the Showa Gamera movies (I know, I know), but Barugon and all the Heisei Gamera films are way higher on my list simply because... they're better films.
And Gamera the Brave, yeah, a fresh re-watch over the weekend confirmed it: This is a wonderful movie and I love it. And I kind of wish Yuasa had been alive to see it. Not much more can be said about it. Too bad it underperformed.
And as a parting thought, I realized that the funny little kid that almost got chomped by Zedus seemed to be the underdog of the group. Kinda reminded me of another movie...

I used to thought this was pretty mediocre ( 
) but I don't that-a-way anymore after watching the Kaneko's Trilogy and the first Gamera movie.
Now I find Gamera the Brave is a pretty brilliant mix of the two above, I wish that it would have help spawn new series of movies though... I wish for a BD release of this particular movie as well.
