Noboru Sato Joins Cast of NEZURA 1964
Beloved cult actor Noboru Sato has been cast in the new kaiju film reboot NEZURA 1964 (ネズラ1964). Sato is a veteran of television and cinema with supporting roles in DOKABEN (ドカベン, 1977), the internationally acclaimed TAMPOPO (タンポポ, 1985) and A TAXING WOMAN’S RETURN (マルサの女2, Marusa no Onna 2, 1988). He has also been a voice actor for anime, most notably the 1973 superhero series CHANGEMAN KEN! (チャージマン研!, Chājiman-Ken!) in which he played General Mao and several supporting characters.
Produced by 3Y Film in association with Kadokawa, NEZURA 1964 is a drama about the infamous unmade kaiju movie by Daiei. The film is co-written, produced and directed by Hiroto Yokokawa (THE GREAT BUDDHA ARRIVAL). The staff includes supervisor Kensaku Sakai, creature designer Keisuke Yoneyama, production artists Takuma Asai, Karin Yamada and Hiroto Yokokawa, and consulting producer/publicist Avery Guerra.
