A rough cut of the highly anticipated kaiju film HOWL FROM BEYOND THE FOG (狭霧の國, Sagiri no Kuni) will be shown at this year’s G-Fest, running Friday, July 12 through Sunday, July 14 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare in Rosemont, IL. The test screenings are scheduled for Saturday at 5:15pm and Sunday at 1:30pm.
Directed by Daisuke Sato, HOWL FROM BEYOND THE FOG is a classic style tokusatsu movie using traditional Japanese FX techniques including puppets, miniatures and suitmation, in collaboration with legendary Toho monster maker Keizō Murase. The film is set in a small village in Kyushu, Japan during the Meiji reformation era. A young boy named Izana and a blind woman named Takiri encounter the large monster Nebula, who since ancient times was feared as the god of lake, Amenosagiri.
