Screenvision Media, a national leader in cinema advertising, in association with KAOS Connect, renowned event cinema creators, and Crunchyroll, the world’s largest destination for anime and manga, announce ticket availability for their next event cinema release, CARDCAPTOR SAKURA: THE SEALED CARD (劇場版カードキャプターさくら 封印されたカード, Gekijoo-ban Kaadokyaputaa Sakura Fuuin Sareta Kaado, 2000). Kicking off the 2018 series of ‘Crunchyroll Movie Night,’ screenings for CARDCAPTOR SAKURA: THE SEALED CARD will take place on January 31, February 3 and February 4 in hundreds of theaters nationwide. A small number of exclusive, limited edition Sakura postcards have been made available to participating theatres and will be given away to event attendees, while supplies last. Fans can purchase tickets for this wildly popular manga title at crunchyrollmovienight.com.
“With exhibitors participating across major metropolitan areas in the country, larger-than-life anime has never been more accessible for fans, and we’re excited to continue bringing these types of titles to movie theatres,” said Darryl Schaffer, executive vice president of operations and exhibitor relations, Screenvision Media.
Directed by the acclaimed Morio Asaka, CARDCAPTOR SAKURA: THE SEALED CARD focuses on Sakura Kinomoto, an elementary school student who discovers that she possesses magical powers after accidentally freeing a set of magical ‘Clow Cards’ from the book they had been sealed in for years. All of the Clow Cards have been captured, and Sakura Kinomoto, the new Master of the Cards, is preparing to play the lead in the play for the town festival. However, a new evil force is causing mysterious events, including the disappearance of Sakura’s cards. With her friend Syaoran’s help, Sakura must figure out the cause of these events and save her town. CARDCAPTOR SAKURA: THE SEALED CARD is being made available through Crunchyroll directly from its Japanese creators, has never been seen in United States theatres, and will feature English subtitles.
“Anime fans are among the most passionate and loyal fans in the world and we’re thrilled to provide the opportunity for them to come together for this iconic Cardcaptor story,” said Dan Diamond and Shelly Maxwell, KAOS Connect’s managing partners.
