This past February, the Curzon Cinema in Soho, London launched a successful series of late night cult film events. The next event for CURZON MIDNIGHT MOVIES will be a special exclusive preview screening of the Japanese horror movie EXTE: HAIR EXTENSIONS (Ekusute, 2007) on Friday, June 27.
EXTE is the latest film from Shion Sono, the prolofic director of SUICIDE CLUB (Jisatsu Saakuru, 2002) and STRANGE CIRCUS (Kimyo no Sakasu, 2005). It stars fan favorite actress Chiaki Kuriyama (BATTLE ROYALE, KILL BILL VOL 1, AZUMI 2, THE GREAT YOKAI WAR) as Yuko, and popular character actor Ren Osugi (BODYGUARD KIBA, SHALL WE DANCE?, WEATHER GIRL, CURE, AUDITION, UZUMAKI, THE TWILIGHT SAMURAI, NIGHTMARE DETECTIVE).
The CURZON MIDNIGHT MOVIES event also includes a “hairy pre-screening party” beginning at 9:30pm. The Curzon encourages partygoers to come with “radical hairstyles, cool wigs, and —if they dare— extensions”. The event features music from DJ Amanda Palmer of THE DRESDEN DOLLS.
