Director Shusuke Kaneko (the Gamera trilogy, GMK) has scored a major success with DEATH NOTE, a pair of films based on the manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. Part one opened at the top of the Japanese box office on June 17… now the conclusion DEATH NOTE: THE LAST NAME goes it one better with an opening weekend take more than double that of the first DEATH NOTE.
